Magz Finlay
Managing Director
Magz is Managing Director of ION Systems, established in March 2002. Joining the business in its early stages, he played a key role in its transformation into a managed service provider. With over 30 years’ experience in IT, he has built a strong reputation for delivering dependable, practical IT solutions to local businesses.
Magz began his career in 1994 at Cabletron Systems as an IT Support Specialist, progressing to Senior European Support Analyst. There, he led major rollouts across Europe and supported complex enterprise environments, developing deep technical expertise in networking and support services.
Under his leadership, ION Systems has evolved into a trusted MSP, helping organisations leverage secure, scalable IT solutions to support growth and day-to-day operations. Magz combines technical knowledge with a pragmatic, business-focused approach, and continues to drive innovation, including work on secure AI solutions for the SME market.
Michael Sheperia
Technical Director
Michael Sheperia is co-founder and Technical Director of ION Systems, established in March 2002 alongside Magz Finlay. He brings over 30 years of experience in IT, with a strong focus on network architecture, systems design, and delivering robust, scalable solutions.
Michael began his career at Cabletron Systems, where he served as MIS Pan European Operations Manager, before moving to Digital Equipment Corporation (DEC) as a Systems and Networks Consultant, designing large-scale infrastructure for enterprise organisations. He later worked as a Technical Solutions Architect, further developing his expertise in complex environments and emerging technologies.
At ION Systems, Michael leads the technical strategy and oversees solution design, ensuring clients benefit from secure, high-performing IT environments. His deep technical knowledge and hands-on approach underpin ION’s ability to deliver reliable managed services and long-term value to its clients.
Jennie Head
Operations Manager
Jennie is ION Systems’ Operations Manager and a familiar face to many of our clients. Since joining the business in 2016, she has played a central role in supporting both customers and the team, helping to ensure the smooth day-to-day running of the company.
Known for her friendly, approachable manner and exceptional organisational skills, Jennie builds strong relationships with clients and is always on hand to help. Her attention to detail and commitment to delivering excellent service make her an invaluable part of the ION Systems team.
